Western Colorado Community Honors Robert Bray with Lifetime Legacy Award
Grand Junction, CO – The Community Impact Council of Western Colorado hosted their annual Inspire Impact Breakfast at the University Center Ballroom at CMU yesterday morning at 8, where a newly renamed award honoring the late Doug Sortor – now called the Doug Sortor Lifetime Legacy Award – was presented to Robert Bray, a nonprofit leader who has made significant contributions to the community.
Robert Bray, who came to present the newly named award, was unaware that he would be the one receiving the award. The nominee for this year was voted on by the council, they unanimously agreed that Robert was the perfect candidate for the award. Not only has he greatly impacted and supported the community, but his dedication to philanthropy is in line with the values of Doug Sortor.
Doug Sortor was a long-time champion and leader of the nonprofit community who passed away in 2022. The award, previously known as the Community Impact Award, recognizes the exceptional achievements of nonprofit leaders who have demonstrated a lifetime of dedication to community service.
During the award ceremony, an emotional Robert Bray expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers and nonprofit supporters in attendance. He stated, “This means a lot to me, and I hope that you will carry this legacy of Doug forward in the good work that you all do.”
